RADIOTHON PROJECT 2023
Well known Gold Coast local identity John Nielsen has donated the use of his “1969 Retro Caravan” to be upgraded and used as “The 94.1FM Outside Broadcast Studio”.
This year’s Radiothon raised money for the refitting, signage and technical broadcast requirements. The van has been fitted with it’s own studio equipment for on-air broadcasting and also for PA requirements at any venue.
The van will be available to community and sporting organisations as well as sponsors for OB Radio Promotions..
The van will give 94.1FM a visual presence at major and minor community activities not covered or promoted by other stations. Covid locked us all away from one another and it’s now time to come out of isolation.
Our first event was the broadcasting of Friday Night's "Kerr's Country" from the Broadbeach Groundwater Country Music Festival.
Our van was located in Kurrawa Park next to the Big Top Festival Stage which gave us access to the many stars performing at the festival.

The Van will be a catalyst for the station to bring back personal contact between the station's personalities, staff, volunteers and our listeners.
