John started in radio at 2GB in 1957 as assistant on the nationally broadcast Jack Davey shows.

Cadet announcer at 2PK Parkes in March, 1958 followed by 2DU, Dubbo, 2CA, Canberra( one of the first faces on Canberra’s CTC-7 ), CKKW, Canada, 2UE, Sydney, 2CA as Programme Manager/Morning Host -2GO Gosford for 13 years on breakfast ( won two national radio awards ), back to 2UE for 18 years as talkback host (nominated for national Best Talk Personality ).

John has just celebrated his 60th anniversary in radio (November 2017).

John presents the Gold Coast Media Club's Award Winning "Kerr's Country" every Friday 7-10pm. A program that has the station's largest on-line listeners across Australia and The World.
